In the mood for a change…

I am in the mood to change the way my blog looks. Luckily with Wordpress (http://wordpress.org), changing the “theme” is a breeze, however finding a good “theme” is proving to be a pain in the arse. Either way, you might see a view variations throughout the evening.

UPDATE: I couldnt find a theme that I liked. So we will stick with the current one from the UK design firm - the 449.

Apples iPhone?

If you have ever been out to lunch or drinks with me, you would know my utter dislike with ALL cell phones. I hate every single cell phone in existence. Yes this includes the Razor the Treo and all of the other Geek Loved phones.

So why do I have this wide blanket hatred? Because all 90% of all cell phone development is on the look and physical attributes of the phone, and 10% on the software that runs it. The Razor from Verizon is the closest thing to a usable phone, but only because they spent maybe 15% on the software and human / software interaction aspect of the phone.

Now, what if one of the best hardware company that is obsessive about usability decided to get in to the market. And lets say they sold the phone so it worked with ANY provider. The rumor mill is buzzing, but it looks like my dreams might be coming true with the iPhone by Apple. Now please keep in mind anytime a big Apple event is about to happen, the rumor mills start kicking in to high gear, and people love to try to fool the masses. But if its true this boy or boy. What isnt google going to do.

Instead of wondering what google will do next, I have decided that I will save the time and start thinking about what they wont do. So whats the latest from Larry Page and Sergey Brin’s Googleplex: Google Code.

A Code Respository for developers. (non technical side note: This helps developers share code, manage multiple versions of code in case something goes horrible arie) In true google fashion, they are doing it better than the vetrens SourceForge. Google Code

Holland zoning rules won’t bend for young entrepreneur

Holland zoning rules won’t bend for young entrepreneur

This article is making me absolutely sick to my stomach. Here is the short version. An 11 year old in Michigan gets old bikes, fixes them up and sells them to kids for a profit from his front yard. 11 years old! Lets make sure everyone gets this: the kid is 11 years old.

So a few of the neighbors didn’t like the way it looked and complianed to the city council! My god people, what kind of ass backwards nation have we become!? The kid is doing something productive with his time. I would rather have him selling bikes on his front yard, than building a pipe bomb in his basement! (Which just happened in the neighborhood next to mine). Or going to school for target practice with his dads gun (who he killed right after finishing his bowl of cocoa pebbles).

So to the neighbors who complained about this kid, get your priorities straight and learn to be more appreciative of the PEOPLE in your neighborhood and not the superficial aspects of your pretty little neighborhood.

If anyone hasn’t already seen the PrintFu PDF search, here is a quick link to it. Basically it uses the Google search API - (which I tear through the max number of searches every day!). Also, you can see what everyone else is searching for.

Welcome to the New Site and Server

Welcome everyone to the new merged bcorbin.com blog. Before I had a personal blog, a work blog, and the fuBlog. Now they are all one in the same. I managed to get the import from blogger to wordpress working, but obviously none of the comments worked. Oh well! Here’s to everyone!
